what’s wrong with this picture?

these are the pre-fall collections of 2009. and they are not from the same designer.

so why do they look the same? if the labels fall off, you wouldn’t know which hi-end fashion house to return them to! richard chai? nina ricci? ungaro? matthew williamson? or proenza schouler? it used to be a geographical problem; they should just have a group show of 200 looks with 4 looks from each new york designers. apparently, it is now an international crisis of disappearing identities.

there is a reason why american apparel are doing so well (3% positive comp sale for 2008 while almost everyone is down). at least you would look like you know what you are doing.
